Objectives:
After the
Teaching Practice, you will be able to:
1.
Write down the objectives in behavioral terms in three
domains.
2.
Select the appropriate teaching methodology, which can
cater the students profile.
3.
Organize the learning activities in the classroom.
4.
Use audio-visual aids as required.
5.
Provide remedial treatment where necessary.
6.
Evaluate the learning outcomes of the students.
Duration:
Two weeks + Four weeks = Six
weeks (Workshop) (Teaching Practice)

Students have to qualify in each component
separately.
Workshop — An Overview:
It is the re-orientation of knowledge that a student has
gained during the study of courses. At the
same time, workshop is the beginning of practical work. The workshop will be conducted under the supervision of a
senior educationist. The name of the school in
which the workshop will he conducted, will be intimated to you by the
concerned Regional Director.
Two supervisors will assist tutor. Tutor will inform you the
details of the
workshop at least two weeks before the
commencement of the workshop. He/she
will evaluate the performance of the
students, keeping in view the attendance.
discipline, level of participation, level of contribution and other activities carried out during the workshop.
The students will write down forty lessons with their
details on a register, which will be maintained by each student. The Head of
the Institution and the tutor will vet each of forty lessons.
Head of institutions will issue a certificate showing that particular student has completed forty lessons up
to the satisfaction. This will make
student eligible to deliver the final lessons.
Final lessons will be observed by an evaluation team
headed by the senior professor of a
University I IER or College of Education where M.Ed and M.A. (Education)
classes are being taught. Head of the institution, supervisors, DEO or his/her nominee and AIOU representative will be the
member of the team. Final lessons will
be written in files (each in separate file) and the submitted to the concerned Regional Director along with the register
of 40 lessons. Moreover, A.V. aids
prepared for the lessons will also be deposited in the office of concerned Regional Director.

On the last day of workshop, every student will submit the
outline of 40 lessons to the tutor which the
student will deliver during the teaching practice.
n
Minutes of every session will be recorded by the students,
vetted by the tutor and will be submitted to the
Regional Director.
n
Tutor and supervisors will award numbers out of 25 to the
students on the basis of his/her performance during
the workshop.
Teaching Practice:
n
Each student will prepare detailed lesson plans on the
topic he/she has already presented.
n Teaching aids
will be prepared/made available during the 40 lessons.
n
Each lesson of the student will be supervised by the head
of institution or his nominee (both
should be at least M.A/M.Ed) and written guidance in specific
terms will be provided on each lesson. Please be specific and avoid giving general remarks.
n
Head of Institution will issue certificate to the
students concerned who have completed their
40 lessons successfully.
n
During the delivery of 40 lessons, tutors and supervisors
will evaluate the presentation of at least 10
lessons. They will also give comments for improvement
on individual's register.
Final
Lessons:
Final
lessons will be two in number. Topic of each lesson will be of student's choice.
University
has no provision of TA/DA or any other expenditure incurred during the
workshop.
